What do you do when you are in an industry that is constantly being bombarded with legislation that aims to put you out of business? You could play ball at first, obeying laws and transforming packaging into a government-mandated piece of cardboard. But how far do you go? Why not just embrace change and finally give legislation something to talk about?
DJ Stout at Pentagram took cigarette advertising head on and produced some packaging that gives the facts.
Stout suggests that to comply with the crackdown, tobacco companies should embrace the restrictions and make cigarettes look truly dangerous. This, of course, will still appeal to a core group of smokers.
I don’t smoke, but these packages are great. Can’t wait to see what sort of legislation comes out now to make the products seem deadlier if this wasn’t enough.
