purposeful or claustrophobic?

I personally like a smaller apartment, so both of these places appeal to me.  The first one was featured in Dwell, and is a 640 sq. ft. walk-up in Manhattan’s East Village.

This second apartment featured on Dornob is a bit more extreme, and claims “21 spaces” with only 350 sq. ft.

The sepia tinted windows are kind of strange though.

So what’s the point?  The point is that luxury and design does not need to be in some huge house or apartment and can be implemented in any size domain.
