In my humble opinion, automotive marketing is 95% of the time geared (no pun intended) to the men.  High horsepower, carbon ceramic brakes, sequential gearboxes – when was the last time you heard about some features for the regular woman who doesn’t need a supercar?  And no, back-up cameras don’t count.

Rolls Royce is one of the first to introduce a feature specifically for the ladies.  It’s not something you’ll be seeing in your Toyota Prius anytime soon (and rightfully so) but for those with big bank accounts, imagine if your girlfriend/wife knew this existed:

Yes, that is an auto adjusting purse holder in the Rolls Royce 200EX concept.  Apparently, one of the engineer’s wife’s complained that she never had a place to set her purse and voila – problem solved.

Add that with the umbrellas in the doors and the prestige of a Rolls Royce and you have a sell out.

This is definitely not comparable to a Benz/BMW/Lexus.  Maybach and Bentley are really the only ones who might be able to compete.

  1. This should have been invented a long time ago, and hopefully in the future it will appear in a car I can actually afford.
