something new, something old

With music moving to iTunes downloads instead of CDs/vinyls, how do you enjoy music like our parents used to?  One way would be to use digital media with vintage equipment, like this iPod dock paired with a phonograph.

The Phonofone, as designed by Tristan Zimmerman for Charles & Marie, relies on the iPod’s headphones and the phonograph’s acoustic engineering to amplify sound without any power.  Limited to 200 examples at a decent price of $600, they are sure to sell out quickly.

Via Unpluggd and available at Charles & Marie.

  1. I really like this! Mixing something vintage, with something mod/modern is cool. Also like how shiny and black it is. Very cool.
